Executive Director, St. Francis of Assisi Parish
I attended my first ACTS Retreat in May, 1995. Larry Lopez was the director. I was put over recruiting on my first team in November, 1995 for St. Paul's in San Antonio. Shortly after that, I was on a team with Larry Lopez and Mike Stehling for St. Paul's in Juneau, Alaska.
I have now watched over 1000 men go thru a transformation as a result of attending an ACTS Retreat. A transformation that is a new and deeper relation with Jesus Christ.
I was part of the ACTS Missions Board when it began in 1997 and remained on the Board for 6 years. Polo Cervantes and Frank Salinas spoke to me about forming a foundation that was dedicated to raising funds to solely help fund partial scholarships for those that could not afford to attend an ACTS Retreat. This meeting took place during a Mission San Jose Retreat in late 2004. I met with Mike Stehling the next week and asked him to make this journey with me.
The ACTS Retreat Foundation was officially formed on March 10, 2005. Our passion and mission is to enable another person to attend an ACTS Retreat by providing a partial scholarship for them through their parish. This is what we do to help "spread the Good News".
